From Trial Lawyer to Stand-Up Comedian: Paul Farahvar’s Leap into Comedy
· 22 min 48 sec · Hosted by Daniel Lucas
Episode description and notes
Today’s special guest is Paul Farahvar, a Chicago-based stand-up comedian whose unconventional journey has taken him from the courtroom to the comedy stage. Before pursuing comedy, Paul worked as a trial lawyer, musician, and artist manager—experiences he now transforms into sharp, self-aware humor. As he jokingly puts it, after “failing” at those careers, he decided to try failing at comedy too. His transition was not a sudden reinvention but a gradual awakening. Paul initially turned to stand-up and improvisational comedy as a creative escape from the pressures of practicing law. As new opportunities emerged, his confidence grew, and comedy became more than a way to stay grounded—it became an obsession and a calling. Eventually, he made the courageous decision to close his law office, leave his established career behind, and take a leap toward life onstage.
