Episode description and notes

From the outside, life may look successful: a demanding career, a full schedule, responsibilities handled, and the appearance of having everything under control. Yet inside, some people feel depleted, disconnected, or unable to remember the last time they truly relaxed. In this episode of Coaching 101, Daniel Lucas speaks with Liz Coleman, a certified transformational life coach with a degree in psychology who works with women experiencing overthinking and the pressure of always being “on.” Liz shares her perspective on why conventional answers—such as reorganizing a calendar or setting better boundaries—may not address every source of dissatisfaction. The conversation explores how expectations can shape the lives people build, and how someone might begin distinguishing their own values and desires from what they have been taught success is supposed to look like. Together, Daniel and Liz discuss the challenge of trusting your judgment when every decision seems to invite another round of analysis. They consider how to make room for reflection during moments of overwhelm, how to tell the difference between repetitive worry and a concern that deserves attention, and why change can feel frightening when achievement and constant effort have become central to a person’s identity. Liz also explains her MindLife Reset approach and her view that change can involve the mind, body, and spirit. She reflects on her own transition from a C-suite role and the pressures of a demanding life to building a coaching practice. Her story raises questions about how people recognize when a familiar path no longer feels right and how they can explore a new direction thoughtfully. The episode also looks at boundaries, self-awareness, and the work of turning insight into action. Rather than suggesting that one method fits everyone, Liz and Daniel invite listeners to consider what they need, what they can influence, and what one realistic next step might be. This conversation discusses coaching and personal growth; it does not replace clinical care. Liz is a certified life coach, not a licensed therapist. People facing significant trauma or mental-health concerns may benefit from consulting a qualified, licensed professional.
