Ryan Williamson Ryan Williamson, MD | Board-Certified Neurologist | Navy Veteran | Owner and Founder of Transcend Health My life has been shaped by early loss and tragedy, which led me to pursue a career in medicine to better help others relieve suffering. In the early years of my clinical practice, I was able to sharpen my skills in the military by working with sailors and Marines, including special forces, to elevate their performance on and off the battlefield. This was incredibly gratifying, however after returning to civilian medicine, I realized how many people suffered needlessly from preventable, chronic disease that ultimately shortened their lives. This led me to focus on a practical, evidence-based approach to disease prevention and to writing my first book, The Incredible Brain. Two days after committing to that path, my lifelong best friend died completely unexpectedly. Through yet another tragedy, I deeply questioned my existence, meaning, and purpose. After that reflection, I came to the realization that I have been put here to help more people and have since dedicated my life to helping others live longer, healthier, more impactful lives.
